About WorthWatching.blog

I'm Shiloh Adeogo, and I started WorthWatching.blog because I wanted a space to write about films and TV shows the way I actually think about them—with time, attention, and honesty.

This isn't a database. You won't find every movie ever made here, no crowd-sourced scores, no algorithm telling you what to watch next. What you will find are long-form reviews of things I've chosen to write about because they stuck with me, challenged me, or made me want to dig deeper.

Why I Write Reviews

I believe criticism is more than ranking things. It's about understanding why something works or doesn't, what it's trying to say, and whether it succeeds on its own terms. A review should help you decide if something's worth your time, but also give you a new way to think about it if you've already seen it.

My taste is personal and specific. I'm drawn to films and shows that take risks, that trust their audience, that have something to say beyond their plot. I value craft—direction, writing, performance, editing—but I also care deeply about emotional resonance. A technically perfect film that leaves me cold isn't as valuable to me as a messy one that reaches for something true.

About the Ratings

The ratings you see here are editorial judgments, not crowd averages. They reflect my opinion at the time of writing, nothing more. A 9.0 means I think it's exceptional—essential viewing that rewards attention. A 7.0 means it's good, worth your time, but with notable flaws. Anything below 6.0 I probably wouldn't recommend unless you're specifically curious.

Numbers are reductive, I know. That's why the review itself is what matters. The rating is just a shorthand.

What to Expect

I don't review everything. I write when I have something to say—when a film sparks an idea, raises a question, or demands a deeper look. Some reviews come weeks after I've seen something because I need time to think. That's by design.

You'll find spoilers clearly marked when necessary, but I try to write in a way that enhances your experience rather than ruins it. I want you to watch these things, not just read about them.
